Gran Selezione is the top level for a Chianti Classico DOCG wine, above Chianti Classico and also Riserva. It is obtained from the best grapes coming from the best vineyards of Fattoria La Ripa exclusively. The grapes are selected by their sugar content, their extract and their potential capacity of ageing. The final selection of the small lots for the Gran Selezione is made by the Consorzio del Chianti Classico exclusively, after a minimum of 30 months of ageing and maturation in the wood in La Ripa’ cellars and at least three months of refinement in the bottle.
